I just got the new CB, had a quick read through. BUT SEE BELOW
Am I the only one who finds less of interest (almost) every month?
And more adverts?
I understand that staffing levels have been cut, and I'm sure everyone is doing their best under the new regime.
But......
I'm not sure that any new bike should be in Classic bike - even a Guzzi.
Too many Japanese bikes for my tastes - although each of the models featured is probably a genuine "Classic" in its own right.
The Ducati Hailwood Replica is a fabulous looking bike.
The Project Triton is coming along nicely - nothing wrong with looking like a beefed-up Royal Enfield Continental GT!
Brembo overhaul is a great idea - might even have a go myself.
Just my opinion of course. What do others say?
N.B. PLEASE see my later comments withdrawing some of this - if you can be bothered - which was written in haste

I say I haven't got a subscription and the last few times I've been passing through airports and stations ( which seems to be when I buy these mags) CB isn't there and sometimes there have been NO classic bike mags for sale.
Tend to decide which to buy based on what's on the cover but Rick is the decider if nothing else says "buy me buy me"

Perhaps they have run out of stock due to CB readers flocking to buy their products............

Look on the bright side - it has usually improved by the time we get it

Nice try Bird !
But I'm just narked that every month some smug subscribing Twunt feels the need to post a 'spoiler' before the rest of us get to see the magazine !
So, Ok, Yours Comes Early - That Don't Impress Me Much !

I meant to post about the issue yesterday but I didn't. I think it's ok. There's enough on Italian bikes to make it worthwhile. I haven't read the thing on Katanas yet. But the piece on the CX500, hmm, I reserve judgement. I thought the Brembo overhaul piece was interesting - brought back memories of my Guzzi and Morini.
The only way to beat the smug subscriing twunts, is to join 'em.

I prefer to support my local newsagent.
He's having a hard time of it at the moment, it seems like every other sod on the planet is trying to drive him out of business.
The local post office and chemists recently closed down to be replaced by a 'Bargain Booze' - despite only being half a dozen doors up from an existing Off Licence - they then decided to sell newspapers as well !

My village has lost it's garage, pub, butchers shop, one of the two small VG style shops and theres a chance it will lose it's post office if this bloody Govt gets it's way. This citizen is not amused . Support your local newsagent or at least your nearest W H Smiths. Use em or lose em they say

Can't agree with you on the WHS Smiths front, they are taking over from the Crown Post Office in Coventry city centre, and, as far as I can see, employ only Dead People (It's the only thing that explains the slowness of the 'service') but other than that we are in full agreement.
See what a sane and well adjusted chap I am !

W H Smiths in Newquay have given me pretty good service and in Truro so I've personally got no complaints against them.
Regards your sanity Gus I take back my statement in the previous posting, we are all entitled to our own views, I just think yours were rather extreeme, however I also believe that once an opinion has been aired and providing it doesn't get too personal (the reason why I take back my previous statement that was a bit out of line on my part) then thats the matter over with.
<~~Still a grumpy ole git though

Just a thought but we visited some friends in Redgrave, Suffolk. The village has a post office/shop that is owned by the villagers. They take turns working there gratis.
It's not a bad shop either.

Maybe it is just you Velton, or should I call you Victor? All you ever seem to do is moan about the mag, so why bother coming on here, and why bother reading it? If you don't like it, or it's not to your taste, go read something else. I'm sure most people come on here to feel uplifted about their hobby, not hear some miserable old sod moan all the bloody time.

I've met Velton and I thought he was a lovely, charming man - not a miserable old sod at all! I like the magazine too!
