| I recently started to search for insurance for my new bike, I had lots of on-line quotes but I did notice one thing, it was no cheaper with Datatag fitted despite claims by the manufacturer that most insurance companies give a discount, so is it worth it? whats the point? If my bike gets stolen then I dont want it back, it would never be the same.

| Are you insuring it as a Classic? If so I'd guess you're only getting quoted £90 or so. I'd say premiums are rock bottom so little scope for discounting! Maybe a Gixer or a Blade would attract a discount though.

| Datatag acts as a deterrant as the bike is more difficult to break and sell on I have had it on some modern bikes Hondas smartwater system is also good although haven't got it on my present Honda, imagine a sticker claiming to have Datatag/Smartwater would be just as effective and far cheaper,it won't stop vermin nicking the bike for joy riding which maybe is why you aren't offered a discount

| so really a Datatag sticker would be just as advantageous.

| Datatag also makes it more likely that thieving b**tards can be caught.
