So after all that extra policing at the last Bulldog Bash due to the shooting at the previous event, it looks like the cops have the guy who did the crime for sure:
A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a biker who was shot dead as he returned home from a festival.

It makes you wonder if the local cops were trying to prove a point -surely not!

| The movie trailer"the Dutchess" was in americanish. C-mon. A movie trailer in GB should be in Englishish. The world is becoming one big happy blur. At least your Hells Angles wear approved helmets.

The fact that they've had the likely culprit banged up for several months hasn't stopped the plod from prosecuting me for carrying a Gerber Multitool to this years Bash !
My official complaint to the Chief Constable has so far only elicited a standard response letter "We take your complaint seriously........blah blah......please be assured...............blah blah..........duty to protect the public...............blah blah Bulsh*t.................Sincerely, Indecipherable Squiggle."
Tossers.

As to that story, I have some doubt as to it's accuracy.
To the best of my knowledge you are not allowed to plead guilty to murder !
The reason being that as an offence that carries a mandatory life sentence it is essential that the legal process is carried out in full and it is 'proved beyond reasonable doubt' that you did commit the offence.

you are allowed to enter a plea of guilty to a murder charge but as it carrys a Mandatory life sentence it is very uncommon

Just imagine if you'd been armed with a plastic t-spoon - they'd have used a taser on you!

Checking with a couple of Lifers who I'm 'lucky' enough to know, they tell me you can't.
You can plead guilty to lesser charges, such as manslaughter and unlawful killing, but NOT murder.
You are obliged to enter either 'no plea' or 'not guilty' - it is then up to the prosecution to prove their case and a jury to find you guilty on the evidence presented.

have done a bit of research into this and it would seem you most definatley can plead guilty. the main reason for a guilty plea would be to attempt to get a reduction in the sentance as set out by the sentancing guidlines council

It's fortunate that I don't go to these events as I carry some seriously dangerous weapons in my tool kit. Including really nasty pointy screwdrivers, Stanley knife blades, big tyre levers, and a claw hammer. Yeah! You don't want to mess with me when I'm out on the LE.

You can't get a reduction on a 'Life' sentence - It's for Life - all of it.
Don't get confused with the 'Tariff' which is the minimum period of time served before being released 'On Licence'
90% of lifers serve at least 3 years beyond their Tariff.
Also, even once you are released you are still serving your Life sentence, your Licence can be revoked at any time, for any reason and you are back behind bars.
Also don't get confused with a 'Whole Life Tariff' which gives no provision for release.

Luckily I'm a Guzzi owner so only need to carry minimal tools.
If they'd stopped me in my c*r and seen some of the stuff I carry in the boot of that thing they'd have banged me up there and then !

I'm wondering whether I should take the fake Leatherman tool out of my tankbag or cut off the end of the blade at least. It's a cheap fake so I don't care that much about it. The real leatherman has a sharper blade and stays in the house.

| Oh, I wouldn't cut the blade off - someone might assume it has broken off in an imaginary victim who you haven't really stabbed!
