hi i am new to the sit and hope someone can help ive just bought a cb550 regesterd on a q plate is the any way i can get a year reg for it ,or does anyone have one with the simular vin cb550f2109120  cb550e1148062 cheers tony

I read somewhere that a Q plate was for bikes and cars that had been made out of bits rather than coming out of a factory.

Yup I was right - http://www.carbasics.co.uk/what_is_a_q_plate.htm

It means the bike wasn't initially registered in the UK or that it was made mostly out of bits and pieces. Hope this helps.

You can't just buy another plate on a Q plated vehicle,on a bike you need to prove you have at least a new/replacement frame with a V5
