"what were you doing on your knees with a cow?"

That's no way to talk about Mrs. Lucky Dave! :P

2 things concern me slightly.... firstly, this thread is definitely on the loose, and secondly.... what were you doing on your knees with a cow?  All sounds very Jerry Springer to me!

Sounds like the makings of an up coming show. "Honest love, There wasn't anything going between me and that cow. And anyway, she doesn't mean anything to me at all.":D

I've heard say that wearing wellington boots helps in this respect with regard to sheep but I've no idea what one would wear with regard to a cow. How the cow came to be inside is another matter that poses questions. I'm not sure I want to find out either.

It was 3 months after getting my bike license. It was a summer night in 1998, around 11:00pm. I was heading downhill on an empty 4 lane highway so I twisted the throttle on my 1998 HD 883 SPortster. I just managed to nudge 160 kmph on the speedo. IF I actually hit the ton is anybody's guess. I knew right then and there I needed a more powerful, proper motorcycle.

First was on the A4 near Reading on a mates bike, can't even remember what bike it was.

Most memorable was hitting 140 on my ZX6R  on an empty Mountain mile, Isle of Man. I then decided to stick a piccie of my kids under my screen to stop me doing stuff like that again...

now that'd be when my 14 went off the sodding clock & was still pulling slightly up the A1M  oddly enough since i took the screen off it stops with about 2mph left on the clock & feels almost normal since ive done it a few times.
i think it'd still go off the clock if i got flat on the tank but i honestly cant be arsed too, if i wanted to ride laying down i'd have got a spurtsbike.

First was on a Royal Enfield 700cc Conny back in the early 60's not sure of the year as it was so long ago, but I do remember it was coming down Black Rock towards Abergavenny, on the then new Heads of the valley road, no big deal in those days on that road as you could get a 350 Trumpy to over a ton on that section of road, but it was still the Ton Up club ;)

MOST MEMORABLE:

ZZR1100D3 with ZXR 750 carb tops are good for 207mph. I figured that would make a good photo from the riders perspective so tried it. Got to 186mph on the clock before accepting that taking a hand off to unzip and reach into my pocket for the camera phone was NEVER going to happen!

I know it was stupid, and I know it should have occured to me before hand. But I was excited and thought it was possible. 186mph feels extremely rapid even in a very soundproofed helmet.

Those GP boys must have stones like pomegranites!

I've had cars hit the 155mph limiter and it is not even a buzz. Bikes are where its at.

I've had cars hit the 155mph limiter on the autobahn too - not unexciting but not a patch on the 140mph I clocked on an FZR many years ago - not even close in fact.

Well I hit my first confirmed (on a bike with a speedo) tonne on Tuesday. I had a Bonnie for a couple of days to write about it. I got on an empty stretch of a private road near me and gave it a good twist. I even ducked down onto the tank for a little extra boost.

I thought it would be a good bike for a first tonne because felt like I was going fast, unlike modern bikes which get their too easily. It made me realise that my helmet is far too noisy though, and after that I stuck to the A and B roads and wore ear plugs.

You should wear ear plugs at speeds over 60mph if you're going for anything more than a few minutes. no matter what helmet you've got.

So are all helmets just as bad?
