Good luck in the shed, I'm sure it will be a minor fault that is easily sorted.

had a little sleep after my nightshift, then decided to pop out for half an hour to watch a Spitfire displaying locally... this turned in to a decent couple of hr bimble on the Guzzi..  :D   also cleaned up the starter button on the Trumpet, so hopefully that will now 'do what it says on the tin' (or button!)

Just been for a midnight run on Beesonda. Lovely but still a little hot (around 33degrees) but with the night air I stayed quite cool. Sometimes I feel I could ride her for ages. Wondering How far I dare take her tomorrow. WOndering if I should ride her to Bangkok on Friday...

Going to sleep soon... its 1.40am.

'night all. ;)

I used to have an ol' T Bird but, with it being the 90's and all, I had to call her my secretary:D:D:D

My day is just starting but yesterday, I fixed a flooding problem on my Suzie (T350). It's maiden test ride happened a couple days ago when enough snow melted.  Since then, I've had several 3 mile or so test hops to sort it out. It's more roadworthy than I had expected. Brakes seem pretty weak but I'm not sure if that's normal or they just need to bed themselves in more.

The carb leak developed "out of nowhere." I figured a hole in the float or a bad needle valve or some junk jamming the valve open. Opened it up and found a burr on the float where the pin goes making the float sticky and not swing freely.

This bike has been such an honest, straight forward thing to work on.:)

FB, glad you got the electricity thing sorted and that it turned out to be an easy fix.:)

Yesterday I walked up the local "mountain", bloody hard climb, but thankfully concrete steps all the way up to an observation platform which gives a fantastic view over to Hong Kong. Didn't have the crabs, maybe another day, had chicken cooked with piles of red chilli () and steamed eggplant, very tasty! Today is raining, so will do some wandering about of shops again.

I got 3 pairs of smaller main jets and a pair of smaller idle jets

The jets in there now are: Main 130, idle 50

The new ones are : Mains 115, 120 & 125 Idle 45.

Originally the carbs were on a Moto Guzzi V7 Sport 750, I spoke to the guys at Dellorto UK and they made the size recommendation. She was running a bit too rich at idle so smaller jets were deffinitely in order.

I've tinkered with the idea (and wondered about getting) an EGT for helping to nail down things like that. But they're expensive and seem to vary in quality/performance. Plus, the sensors need to be put in a hole in the header :(. And the EGTs I've looked at are pricey.

I'm planning on just getting a colourtune kit as that's usually enough to set the carbs up. I have a set of vacuum gauges but colurtune allows you to see the actual burn so you can get the mix right.

That's the first time I've heard of it. I just googled it and read some...what a good idea being able to look right in the boiler room! I must read more.
