today.. I had to go to work.. :(  to make it more bearable I did take the Guzzi, although at 06.30 this morning riding through the thick mist I did wonder if it was such a good idea.. the day did improve though when I  popped outside in the glorious sunshine to watch one of the Griffon powered Spitfires being put through its paces..  and then leaving work I took the scenic route home through (not across!) the open  fields... t'was lovely just bimbling along in the early evening sunshine.. one disconcerting thing - I found myself humming On Days Like These, from the Italian Job  - humming Matt Monro tunes!!?? Matt Monro??!!! blimey I'm turning in to an old git!!! :D  I've got another 3 shifts over the weekend, so I hope all of you who are 'off' get out of the shed and enjoy the weather...

Neil

Jimmy,

After they landed, did you wander over and suggest they may be able to use some smaller "main jets?"...some of them appear to be running a little rich.:)

Phewwww sun's shining and I was getting on with the small shed. Finally emptied it, found a few things I forgot I had and a couple of things I been looking for for ages.Boy you should have seen the size of the spiders, even made me wary, looked like something out of Dr Who. I found a plastic bottle of Black Motorcar bumper cleaner for cars with black vynal bumpers. Thought "This looks interesting" and tried it out on the D7 bike seat. Bloody hell it brought it up like new and it didn't rub off when i sat on it. Now all I got to do is get some new roofing felt and reroof it  then fit some new worksurfaces and shelves and I'm ready for the winter project. Used a BIG metal bar under one corner and lifted the shed slightly then  slipped a couple of bricks under it and the shed is now reasonably straight. Well thats been my day so far and tommorrow I'm off on the bike to the Blue Hills outside St Agnes to watch the hill climb part of the Round Cornwall Rally. Should be good for a laugh.

I hope you are taking care fo that ticker McNutt!

I started my day in a big shed having a puncture fixed on my truck. and arranging to shedological services of my mates at K.M.7. to fisx my broken Exhaust and check my occasionally slipping clutch. Its a double clutch so might cost as much as £5 quid to fix!!! I'll take a deep breath.

I graduated out of the shed onto the open road in seach of an inland beach resort with a young lady friend of mine. We found it and swam halfway across it aiming for the other side until I joked that there may be sharks and she looked a little scared. Water play on hot day is great! went back to the truck after an hour or so ( turning prunish) and once changed settled into some pages of Jupiter. The best read, just purely engrossing. Most of the way home I forgot all I'd eaten today was an Apple and some diet coke. We feasted on an Isaan Style BBQ of pork beef and octopuss.

Home now at 9pm ready for bed before a 7am tee off in the morning! Sorry FB, I have to play with the new toy, don't I!

Ps... Ive started a craving for a cheap old Motorcrosser... which is best, two or 4 stroke?

Ah, Saturday!

JUSt got in from 18 holes of Glorious Golf! Clubs ain't half bad and my game improved when I caught up and played with a couple of Thais, Each of whom played with a drivwer worth more than my entire set of clubs and bag! I did alright though and on a long hole put their expensive equipement to shame. One when OB to the right and the other went on the next fairway left, I went within 5 yards of the same distance, straight down the middle. It only happen once though...:D

Now to the Shed to get my Exhaust sorted and check the clutch. Its 11:30am here so My day has well and truly got under way. 3 hours light exercise and now some shedology. I might enquire about a crosser too. there's a little shed down the way that seem to work on them constantly...Oh dear...that's how it starts!

I spent Saturday with the wife in an attempt to remain in good book. Nice day, but sadly no shed time. Today will be about 10 hours shed time, as my wife has agreed to look after the most annoying child in Frankfurt from the afternoon until tomorrow. Best just to stay away. You know those kids that think everything is rubbish unless it like the one they saw. Tried telling me single cylinder bikes are crap, he's 10 years old and one of the reasons condoms were invented.

Loz: As for small crossers, I would recommend for larfs only up to 250cc get a two stroke, unless you are planning on climbing mountains on it. A good option is an early Yamaha DT125.

Well I went to the Blue Hills rally and in a seperate posting I've posted 5 pictures of some of the bikes in the car park there. HOWEVER it was one hell of a long walk from the car park to the area where the trials were taking place and as i've just got over a virus and don't feel 100% at the moment I trundled on back home. The B175 went great but I got this grunching noise from low down and thought "S**t whats happened here?" I rode home nervously listening to every beat of the engine then the noise came back again. Oh Hell is it an RAC get you home job. HOWEVER as I glanced down I noticed that the sidestand was close to the ground. The spring is weak that keeps it up. Sigh of relief. When it happened the first time as i pulled into the side of the track I was on the sidestand had gone back to it's proper position. Phewwwwhttp://www.

When I got home I still had that noise from my front wheel so I thought I wouldn't waste the day and settled down to work out the problem. I put the bike on it's centre stand over a step going down in the garden and that let the front wheel run free. First thing I did was undo the brake cable and then span the wheel. ...... NO NOISE. I worked out then that the brake cable I had been sent was a D7 cable without the adjuster at the bottom and when I constructed the bike I'd added a B175 adjuster to the cable. What it came down to was the cable is just that bit shorter than the B175 one. Suprising what a difference an inch can make.

OKAY OKAY OKAY no dirty remarks please Becky may be reading this.

Well thats my day so far. Look in the general section at Blue Hills Bikes for the piccies.

:D Hope that didn't bore you, tuf if it did ;)

Not done much since arriving in china, 5 days of wandering around ShenZhen city, looking at shops and stuff. Fantastic prices on tooling, but would need to get a crate and freight forwarder sorted to take full advantage (time yet I suppose). Got a genuine pair of rayban shades for a tenner (could have haggled more, but not in the mood), rip off ones about 2 quid or less.

Trying to access photobucket to update me website.

Ah!! You are in Shenzen province. DO tell me what its like as I was offered a teaching job there and as it looks like a great way to travel without spending any of my own money I had not ruled it out. How far does 6000 of the local currency go by the way? If I had to guess I'd say "respectable local salary but laughable by our western standards.." What does it buy, do you know?

Welcome back, shipmate!

:dude:
