hello- i have 3 bikes that are currently unregistered. I have regd several bikes in the past but not sure if the law has now changed.

1- yamaha rt360- that i bought in France as a box of bits and now restored- - i have the french reg docs

2 - a complete Yam RT360 imported from USA- with docs to prove its age

and a Suzuki TC120. its a UK bike that has never been registerred and no docs other than the invoice from the dealer

all are 1971

any advice very much appreciated

cheers

find your local DVLA office & ring them. the local offices are normally quite helpful unlike swansea.

With the French import all you need is to MOT it and fill in the relevant paperwork and take them in to your nearest LVLA  office. they may ask to examnine the bike but should issue a number there and then and a vel as long as you have it insured.

As for the US import it should be the same although customs may be involved re import duties , get advice from the dvla on this.

The unregistered one will require an MOT and they will probably insist on a a dating certificate from either suzuki or the vjmc or similar. As per the French one to then get it registered

I think you'll find that, were you to discover an RT36o in a barn with no registration plate, you may have an easier life than registering a bike imported from the USA.
