We've had some great pics sent in of your new projects – the tattier the better, which we use in the mag. Please keep them coming, because we're all voyeurs at heart who like looking at what others have just bought.

Please email them to me (jim.moore@bauermedia.co.uk) with a description of what you've bought, what state it's in, your plans etc, or send them in by post to My New Project, Classic Bike, Media House, Lynchwood, Peterborough, PE2 6EA.

Thanks

Jim

Very nice, mate.

More to my taste than one of those Craig Vetter jobbies.

Are you going to a) fit lights and b) use it on the road?

Very nice James .......... probably just me but I'd have to make a bike like that road legal with lights, even if it were only easily detachable ones, but thats a really nice bike you got there

:)

Hi lads, thanks for the positive comments on the tracker:).in answer to questions,no i have no intention of fitting lights, the mantra in building this bike has been,'less is more',and when you ride it you know that every gram saved was worth it!the bike is road registered, taxed and mot,ed (daytime use only)and today has been its proper maiden flight following a couple of teething problems(ovality in front drum and weak clutch spring, now sorted)and boy does it fly!! its a real hoot to ride,we estimate its weight to be somewhere in the region of 165kgs,a stock Trident tips the scales at around 203kgs,its fairly low geared and with the light B50/ Adventurer yolks and sliders not difficult to pop the front up!whilst we are still running in and bedding in the rather scary drum brakes, speeds and revs were kept to moderate levels to begin with, with a few short blasts when prudent,it ripped the pants of my mates stock Trident:cool:(who never hangs about, has 11 Tridents and has been instrumental in helping me with this project,)and when the few minor adjustments and oil change after the first 500 miles have been completed i am looking forward to ringing its neck on bright sunny days.I see in the current edition of the mag,in the article on the lovely Norton Ruby that specials could be included in classic bike of the year,do you think i should be cheeky and bung a foty of this in?:D
