Might be a good idea to get one in person rather than on the net? I suspect that many of them will look a bit big on your dinky 125.
As for rear-sets, I imagine that you would be more comfortable with them (if possible to fit them) as your knees would not be so doubled up under your tummy as with original rests and lowered bars.
Clip-ons? What is the diameter of your fork tubes?
Maybe jamie isn't as fat as you Velt????

Oh trust me, I bet I am bigger then velt lol.
Think I'm going to fit a standard swing arm as the shorter wheel base will make it handle better.
The back wheel is really "scittish"

Considering your size I wouldn't have thought 'skittishness' would be a problem !
in any event a shorter swinging arm is likely to make the problem worse, not better.
Or did you mean 'Scottish' ?

It feels like the back wheel is jumping over a few inches when cornering, allthough I know it's not REALLY that much at all, maybe a few mm.
Nothing thats to bad to put up with, I do ride off roaders and an old crappy Ariel after all.

If you intend to use this bike mainly for sprinting then I suggest that you keep the longer swinging arm - for traction / reducing wheelies.
What else might be causing the skittishness? Tyes/ pressures?
I'm assuming the swinging arm bearings etc . are all in good shape?
How well do CG125s handle as stock? Anyone know?

dont think they go fast enough for anyone to find out dont recall the one i used on my CBT feeling unsafe for any reason except the rider. seemed stable & forgiving which is probably why so many training schools use them.

Hi all,
Just back from the Llangollen show where I met Jamie with his Ariel and recent projects - both looked excellent. At the risk of sounding patronising I thought it was great to see a young guy with such a passion and commitment to the bikes. Good for you Jamie! Cheers, Jez

Can't remember mine ever feeling skittish, or scottish. Are you running on tarmac, and how good are your tyres? I can lean mine by what feels like a large amount with no ill effects.

mine used to handle alright too, i used to keep it pinned to the stop and lean alot in corners, was a bit bouncy on bumpy roads but other than that it was ok.
good work jamie , whats next???

Hi Jamie,
I'm in Nantwich, Cheshire. What did you think of the show? I thought it was ok for a first show but really needed more bikes there and more jumblers as well - there was only one! Cheers, Jez

Hi, I thought it was "ok", allright for a first show but I hope it does get better.
More stalls, more bikes ect ect
Was worth going just to annoy the HD nightrod guy, he started his bike and reved it, every one was looking thinking "oh, thats loud" So I quickly started my Honda, took the grin of his face put it that way.....
Then the guy started his Honda 250 IL4 race bike that revs to 20k ! That thing is LOUD

| Yeah, I heard that Honda going - that was proper loud! I reckon it'll become a good show because there's so many bikers that use the horseshoe pass. It was a good turn out for a first one, but I had a look around the bike park and there were only a few classics in - a nice Norton and a good Sunbeam S7 but not much else. Cheers, Jez
