Hi Hugo, nice to meet you at Brooklands last weekend,we at Wells club had a fantastic day and on the coach trip home i asked if any of our more senior members might be willing to participate in a forthcoming article. There was general approval, however a wee reminder nearer the time may be required as some of the 17 year olds do suffer with "senior moments" from time to time.We have a 74 year old who has been riding in Trials since his teens and who rode 90 miles off road in a trial the day after boxing day!and continues to ride out on a regular basis. Our Treasurer is a gent in his 70,s who has owned in the past a huge variety of machines and in the seventies exchanged his elderly Vincent for a Honda (which he still has)when i remarked that i betted he wish he had kept the Vincent he replied that he had become fed up of always repairing the Vincent and had no regrets in purchasing the Honda which had never let him down in 35 years despite doing far more miles than the Vincent!he still rides almost every day, still has numerous machines ,one of which is a modern MV Augusta F4.he has a wicked sense of humour and i only can hope that i reach my seventies with the same spirit and continued love of bikes. If we at Wells can be of any assistance please feel free to contact us.

On sunday 18th of may we are organising a "Tortoise Run" for old and slow machines (and riders) unlimited capacity pre 1940,and under 350cc prior to 1973(unless sidevalve,in which case unlimited). It is the first year we are running the event but hope that if all goes well it will become a permnant annual fixture with a national attendance.

Hi James, good to see you back - and to meet you again at Shepton.

I have an old, slow rider available but no bike to fit the requirements.

Hope the event is a great success!
