I spend hours pouring over my collection of motorcycle mags looking for items that I remember appeared but can,t remember when.

What about reprinting some of the more interesting articles, rebuilds, tests etc editorial choice of course. To many readers these will be new reading. Should be cost effective as well.

Great idea just as long as they start with really early articles, pre 1990.

Its only a repeat if you read it first time round, new people are coming into the classic fold every day as can be seen from the many younger bike enthusiasts joining our flock. Its all new to them.

The CB started in 1979, and some of the older articles I found very interesting and I,m sure others would to. And it would save me going up to the attic every time I wanted to read an early peice.

What about listing a few choice articles on the website?

Might interest some new people into buying the mag and would definitely be useful for us if it had a decent indexing system???

Sorry to be dumb, but what's the point of stocking all the old magazines in the attic if you don't go up and read them when you need an old article? :?

Indexing on-line would save searching through loads of magazines.

While that is great fun it's not the most efficient way to locate the information you're looking for!

Agreed I can't remember how many times I've started to search for a item and been distracted by another item or three ,Isn't that the pleasure or having back copy's

Your missing the point. What I suggested was mainly for the people who hav,nt got piles of mags in their attics, or for those who did,nt buy every copy and may have missed an item. Re-printed material is new if you did,nt see it the first time round.

You could always file them on your website and we could sift through them, between post-its and coffee breaks.

I don't think Lord EMAP would be very pleased about that !

Apart from the tiny matter of copyright, there's their own reprint/back issues revenue stream !

I have every copy of CB, plus every motorcycle mechanics going back to 1959, plus numerous blue uns and green uns etc, etc. I refrained from making the offer you did as I live perilously close to Lord Emaps domain. You don,t know him like we locals do, he,ll stop your subscription just like that, look what happened to Loz, he has to wait ages to get a month old copy.

just looked back at this thread.
i was joking mate, old articles re-hashed would be a good thing i reckon. most the newer articles are probably just that anyway, there can only be so many ways to restore a bonnie after all?
