Right I know this is a form of plagerism.

Going back about 10-12 years ago BSH magazine done a series called Landmarks in which at the start of each spring they gave out a list of wellknown landmarks throughout the UK; Stonehenge, The Commando Memorial, etc and the object was to photograph you and your bike at as many of these as possible. Now as much as I would not expect CB to copy another mags idea I would suggest any forumeers posting pics of their bikes at famous landmarks. As this is a worldwide forum I'm sure we could get some tremendous photos. I've none at hand to start it off, but am heading over to Ireland next weekend so will try to get the Bonnie at the Giants Causeway or summit. Hope this takes off. :D :D :D

I remember the BSH landmarks thingy, such good fun!

Also any unusual placenames or signposts might be good.

I have a "thing" for bridges, I always like to cross a bridge on my journeys, there is something satesfying about it.

i did the BSH one a few years ago... and they had a very nice party over in Derbyshire for those who had participated.. well I think it was nice, it was all a bit of a haze..! :D

as its classic bike, you could just make the locations more suited to, say, old brit stuff, like original factory sites, race circuits, towns with bike names, (i once, completely by accident, rode into a village called norton!) or locations that have some historical significance in the bike world, riders birthplaces etc. or you could equally go off on a tangent and go for daft placenames, !! but it might make a good competition, people have a set time to collect pics of their bikes at a list of landmarks. with a token prize, ( a subscription or lunch at hugos!!!!) on offer. it might even encourage some of us to venture a little further afield on our older bikes, which itself can be no bad thing!

I only went the once, last year, and to be honest it was just an excuse to catch up wi me brother and some friends, we didn't even see the bike show.

I wouldn't bother again, it was far too hot and dusty. They had a fine mist sprinkler system in the marquee to cool folk down it was that hot.

Maybe it's just me but I don't really care for huge crowds anymore. I much prefer smaller rallies or events of any kind.

Hi Jimmy, here's an 'augenblick' as we say in Germany.  It's the Hexen Tanz Platz in the east Harz Mountains (I live in the west Harz).  40 grad !  Bloody sweltering.  I'm second from right in the black jeans and teeshirt.  The rest of the mob are by far the slowest riders I've ever taken out-yes it's members of the  BMW OC Northern section!

Cheers Ash

We never say that, augenblick means similar to a moment, as in short period of time. But I know what you are getting at Ash:D.
