glad you liked them neil
the yam in the pic was Tony rutters ex bike which came 2nd in the british championship in 1969 it had, metal profile forks, special frame, custom tank, 1-off farhon front brake, everything was special apart from the rear hub which was standard, and the engine which was original TD1c but obviously tuned.
He sold it to someone who was "starting racing" and turned out to be a dealer making money, he very much regrets selling that bike.
The one ive put in my other post is/was a totally standard TD1c, it was rebuilt but i dont know when and it seized up, and pretty much ended up in bits and then in our loft until i persuaded my dad to bring it down recently, i imagine it would have been sold if it wasnt put away.
the royal enfield in the pic is a pretty rare one too (12ish made), but he didnt know what he had i dont think. Think the pic of the RE is 1970.

Hi,
Smashing photos, particularly intrigued by the RE. It looks to have a 2-st engine, is it a genuine RE or a special of some kind. Looking at that one piece tank/seat unit I was thinking that Craig Vetter could easily have got his inspiration for the X75 from that.
Cheers Zunspec

Isn't the RE a GP5? If my aged memory serves. Lovely looking bike.
If only they had made one with a Crusader type 4 stroke single motor. Would have been slower of course, and too expensive for the 250 learner market but a lovely idea.

I know a guy in South London with two of those Royal Enfield racers. One is in bits and one is complete and runs. I think another guy we both know has the one that goes at the moment.
They aren't for sale. I asked.

you sure he wouldnt sell? my dad would love another.
They dont seem to hold much value, which is a shame but alot of these bikes dont seem to when a manx is worth x2/x4 than alot of racers!
