Ah, Harrogate!

lovely place for a bibble around on the bike! used pass through on the way to Mother Shiptons for row on the river...

I could just do with a freshly squeezed OJ and florentine from Betty's about now...

looks like a useful stopping off point on my way to elsewhere, or possibly on the way back from !
Wi-fi and non-smoking are good plus points from this bikers point of view.
Could do with knowing how far away the nearest decent pub is though !

Ah but I'm after a 'decent' pub !
Preferably one with a good range of real Ales and that refuses to sell Lager on principle.
Serves good home cooked food, not micrwaved or boil in the bag.
Has a free jukebox with a good selection of Rock and Blues
and finally,
has Comely Serving Wenches, preferably ones who are irresistably attracted to ageing, balding, bearded Moto Guzzi owners.
Can't be too much to ask !

I think you might be setting your requirements a bit high, if you are willing to accept that the pub sells lager, then you might have luck.:D

Gusset, if you find a pub that meets all your requirements except that the comely wenches prefer the Guzzi owners to be beard-free, then please drop me a line. Even selling lager could be forgiven under those circumstances!

But can you get a nice pint of lettuce and radish beer:P, No, because it's not a real pub.

I see you are an appreciator of Tanglefoot, I have often appreciated the output of the Badger Brewery, very nice indeed.

As it says, it's not easy being green, if being green means drinking Banana bread beer, I prefer not to.

All beer in German beer sold in Germany has to meet the standards laid down nearly 500 years ago (1516), only natural ingredients: Spring Water, Hops, Malt & Yeast. Anything else added and it is no longer legally defined as beer:D. There is a L*ger being brewed here and it is sold as lager and not technically beer and it's HORRIBLE!!!.

I do not understand how, in a country where hundreds of fine Pilsener beers are brewed, a brewery would start getting the chemistry set out, except maybe to entice misguided british tourists and the occasional Banker (with a 'W').

We do have something similar to real ale, around Dusseldorf there is Alt Bier, very tasty, served in tiny glasses (0,2 litre) they keep refilling them until you loudly demand that they stop:D.

Thanks Gusset but I waste enough time on this flaming Forum.

One or two of the wenches certainly look comely enough but I prefer the company of 3D women.

Lettuce and Radish Beer ? - Jeez !
Lettuce Wine I've tried - Lettuce juice is a narcotic dontcha know - which is why you shouldn't feed it to rabbits - gets the furry little f*ckers stoned !

Banana Bread Beer is absolutely Bl**dy Lovely - tastes exactly like it says on the bottle.

in Germany - stick to the Weiss Biers - or indeed, the Alt Biers.

And, finally what do you mean my Bar is not a real pub ?
We have Curry Night on a Thursday !
