Ok all - I am now going to have my one and only winge - please join me in crushing the opression of the powers that be.....

Summay:

I have always been a reader of CB magazine, I have attended 2 CB track days and have contributed (when I can) to the forum and have had pictures in the mag......I think you get the picture, an all round good egg!!

I have recently taken a job in France for two years and have subscribed again to CB for delivery to my french address (I also subscribe to Bike and the same thing applies). I have been told that I cannot receive any of the free subscription gifts because I am not in the UK - this makes me especially angry as this time round there is a set of Draper spanners up for grabs and I desperately need a set of Imperials. I work in logistics and I know that shipment of items from the UK to France is only very slightly more than internally in the UK and this should not effect the decision to give these gifts. There is a large British bike scene over here and it does seem a little unfair and not a good marketing strategy to not offer these gifts - the accountants rule the day again!!

I am not a winger (I know I am British so this is a contradiction!) but I do really feel that I have supported the magazine in most ways possible and this would be a small token and who knows, I could really promote the magazine further in France as I have joined two british bike clubs here....hmmmmm maybe.

Alright - I have had my winge and will go back into my hole. I was going to invite a group of French bikers over to next years CB track day, but maybe now we will go to the 1000 bikes instead!

I totally agree, I renewed my subscription again this year, but when I asked for a free T-shirt I was told quite bluntly that these were for New Subscribers only, so 8 years of continuous subscription is not good enough for a T-Shirt. And whether you stricktly need them or not there is no such thing as too many spanners.

What you should have done is subscribed to a UK address, and then, once you'd got your spanners, changed addresses to your Furrin one !

The thing is with him being in Germanland, he don't qualify, just like me living in Texasland. Now if I have it sent to the old girls place in OXON I can get the t-shirt/spanners/badges/etc like the rest of you lot. But those of us in the far flung regions of th world can't for some "reason."

Methinks it's time to revisit the bollocks thread again:shock:
