True, but a good RGS (or replica) is a thing of great beauty.

Especially with swept-backs, Goldies etc.

I think Jezza was being facetious Velton, RGS replicas are not that thin on the ground at all, in fact, consider the scarcity of the real McCoy (I think about 1500 were made) and I bet there are ten times that number kicking about the highways and byways of good 'Old Blighty'.

Still I agree, a well done rep is a thing of great beauty, as was its child... the A65 Clubman

As long as it's not an R1200GS Replica:shock:, And you'll need quite a big basket on the back for a Goldie.:P

Why not turn it into a hard tail chop - also rare - not.

I live in South Yorkshire... an ex-mining area with lots of subsidence manifested all over our roads... I THINK MORE OF MY KIDNEYS THAN A HARDTAIL CHOP

Facetious - one of the very few words in the English language that contains all the vowels, used once only, and in the correct order.

Yes, but I thought Jessplop was being ironic! :P And tried to reply appropriately.

Interesting that the A65 Clubman was mentioned. The most beautiful RGS (replica?) I ever saw had one of those Lightning Clubman-type seats with a gold fibre-glass hump * (absolutely the perfect finishing touch) and not too much chrome.

Exquisite.

* a bit like Hodge Podge's seat/ hump in shape

Frank

I rode a hardtail chop, a CB750 originally, once for a short distance along a potholed road in Wiltshire. I was surprised that my kidneys didn't feel as if they'd been under assault. However, it did have a big fat custom (should that be Kustom?) tyre that was intentionally soft. It handled, sort of, too. I didn't ride it far though and to be honest, I was glad to get back on my Ducati afterwards and even its hard suspension and seat was a welcome relief.
