I saw the Stones last year at the O2. It was one of the best of the many many gigs I've ever been to since I first started seeing bands in the late 70s. Sympathy for the Devil was a particular highlight.

Good rock/bike tracks would have to include: Duane Eddy - Peter Gunn, The Clash - Brand new Cadillac, Creedence Clearwater Revival - Up 'an around the bend, The Foo Fighters - The Pretender.

I find that when I go to see a really good band, I get the urge to go home an rev my bike up. The need to do this increases in proportion to the quality of the music in my experience. Am I the only one who reacts to live/loud music this way?

Oh yeah....haven't been to see any bands for years other than seeing Clapton and BB King here in San Antonio a few years back (but not together), but I do tend to get like that as well. Even when driving, say if Judas Priest comes on the radio and palys Turbo Lover, I tend to turn it up and "get into" driving a lot more.

Sort of what the authorities feared would happen eons ago when rock and roll first come out. The fear was that the beat would lead those wild kids to tap their feet on the pedal in time and this would lead up to increased speed and fuel usage which in turn would lead to who knows what.:? Maybe they were right;)

Some stuff on here is new to me, which is great!

I must agree that The Datsuns are Rock'nRoll, albeit "post-punk rock"  like the Germans with the unpronounceable name.

A British classic, Natural Born boogie

Intro, off transformer, by Lou Reed, was a good warm up track if I was in the old mans car, perfect for the twisty road at the top of the lane.

PS.  Don't know who the other bassist is but top bloke!

Look like Alex Al, but as you never see him in close up who knows!

And if you love funk, here's a weirdish one - PRAXIS with Bootsy himself, and Bernie Worrell for good measure!

Jazz rock-wise - check the SCREAMING HEADLESS TORSOS..

And good shout on Rose Tattoo - forgotten about them!

LS have this for your efforts.  It's Dream Theater (the worlds best musicians) doing some studio stuff.  For people who don't know DT please bear with it.  These guys really can play!!!!!  Mike Portnoy is the worlds most in demand session drummer!  DT do their own stuff but they're mega famous as the worlds best cover band-of all things.  These guys can play anything, and I mean anything!!!!  Also posted here their version of Us & Them by Pink Floyd.

Hope you like it

Cheers ash

and here's us & them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsxBzBmSSu0

and for your complete enjoyment laydees and genulmen here's the delectable miss Sam Brown (the worlds best female session singer and Pink Floyd favourite) singing here lungs out and proving that white girls can sing the blues-be prepared to get the shivers

1 minute in surely gets the tears flowing

Thanks Velt. They have gone into my Fav Places. Doris Day is still alive. She was a hearthrob for me back in the 60's. When I was stationed in Shoeburyness I sneaked out of camp 5 afternoons in a row to go see Calamity Jane in Southend with a mate on mine that was also a DD fan. Been looking for a woman with a figure like hers that could wear fawn buckskin like she does and sing Secret Love. Wife could do the first few when i met her but is a crap singer.

Shame about Don Estelle. What a voice coming from such a little guy. From what I heard he died in poverty in a bedsit somewhere. Trouble was I think he got himself typecast in Half hot Mum and though the rest of the cast managed to lose the typecasting Don never did. Such a loss.

I guess that applies to Freddy Mercury too. What a fantastic voice and what a waste of a life to go like he did. IF he had lived I think he was one person that would still be a major star today.

Vera still lives in a little village in E Sussex. I used to pass through it a lot just after I came out the army and was doing a lorry driving job. She has done marvellous work quietly for ex-servicemen and women. She deserved her Damehood as far as I'm concerned.

Ho hum those clips brought back a LOT of memories for me. Bloody nuisance getting old.

:dude:<~~ You know you're getting old when you can be wearing one of these 3 days after Christmas and no one takes any notice. Still it has it's benefits, you can fart in a lift and no one admonishes you just putting it down to your age.
