Can I please ask everyone to keep their avatars below 100x100 pixels. We don't want to be running out of server space just yet.
Thanks

You should be able to check this in your pictures folder before uploading, however if you right-click your avatar and then select 'Properties' it should then give the pixel dimensions, which I make yours to be 73 x 111. Last edited on Thu Dec 28th, 2006 12:17 pm by L.A.B.

You make me feel so much better.
Avatars, the little pic with your name on the postings.
Pixels, little people that live at the end of the garden.

You need something that can create animated GIF file, this can then use layers of small images to flick through like a slide show. search internet for Gif animator feeware you will surely find something.

Yep, that's the only way I know how to do it uploading a GIF. Try speaking to Baldyman or Clivey GT550, they look like the experts on here!

I checked, I'm 150 x 112, very sorry! BUT perhaps if you check yours "BeckyC" you may find that you also have more than you fair share of "pixies", or is this a case of one rule for us and one rule for them? Mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Thanks Frankfurt-Beesa - I have created the .GIF slideshow using the freeware.
I can't seem to be able to upload the file (less than 100kB!) into the Avatar.
Don't know if you guys have any other suggestions.....? I'll keep trying...

Yep sorry about that. I guess if things avatars are a little over doesn't really matter. I just wanted to make sure that storage space didn't run out in the first couple of weeks.
Sorry, wrap on the knuckles for me!

Becky, I think your avatar is worth however many pixies it takes to weave it together. Don't worry about storage. unless your site is hosting the pics then the file size is the issue, not the dimensions. Nothing I've seen on this site is sapping the storage thus far.
Maybe a techie can help out. If this site is used to hoste pics that are "stored" elsewhere, whose bandwidth is drawn upon?
With this in mind, if storage becomes an issue, remove the "attachment" feature as you are hosting images of up to half a meg at a time for no reason. they could be hosted on http://www.Ringo.com for example, free of charge.
Oooh, I've come over all techy... sorry about that
