A devilish beast indeed. Speeding down the A14 with both strands of hair streaming behind me. I cut quite a dash .

Maybe it would be better if people kept the size of the pics down.
It makes the threads hard to read when they are 2 foot wide!

Its yer Hindu philosophy innit. Vishnu (the big cheese so to speak) and other gods can have many incarnations. So he can be a fish or a tortoise or a monkey or whatever and these are known as avatars. In other words its something that you are known by which is not you. So people on this forum like to be known as their bike or fave cartoon character or a lady with no clothes on or whatever.

I host my pictures on Flickr which does some automatic optimising and includes a 'thumbnail' sized image.
To optimise my photos before hosting I use a program called The Gimp which allows you to scale images down and then reduce the filesize.
It has the advantage of being a fair bit cheaper than Photoshop (ie It's FREE !)
