Hi all can anyone tell me in very simple words, how to upload photographs? I have read the post about photos and have registered with imageshack and uploaded four photos of the 1300 onto that site.

But now when I log onto imageshack I can't see my photos. Also if I can get my photos viewable on imageshack how do I get them transfered onto the forum? Sorry if I sound a bit thick, but as I've said previously I'm not much good with these new fangled computer thangs.

It's quite easy really (although imageshack is moderately crap) right click on image, and select 'Properties' from menu, copy the 'Address' (example below).

Then in your post editor on here, click on

Paste the address copied from image properties into the pop-up window, and click 'OK' Done.

Photobucket is a bit easier as there is a function for copying the embedding code to paste directly into your post.

Hi Frankfurt-Beesa, many thanks for the info.

I can get the imageshack page up ok, only problem is, I can't right click as I use an applemac computer and the mouse has no left or right click buttons.

I am not sure if there is another way to do the equivelant of right clicking on one of these. I might try the photobucket site if you think this is a better one, and see if its any easier there.

Cheers Dave

I think with Mac you need to hold down the apple key or the one with the funny squiggle :? on it, the click on the image and you get the menu.

photobucket gives you four yellow boxes under each pic. the bottom one is called IMG tags, copy & paste the contents of that box over & your pic will display on any forum.
sounds easier than what your trying to me.

Not having much luck with the photo download, I think I will try to get the photo's to my work computer, which is a windows type thing, and try to put them on the site from there if its any easier than the mac.

Many thanks for the help, as I said I'm not much good with these computer things no matter how many times I bash them with the hammer they always seem to play up with me.

Cheers Dave

If my memory serves my correctly you can 'right-click' on a Mac by holding down the CTRL key and clicking ?

For image hosting I much prefer Flickr, not only does it give you a choice of sizes it also now has some image editing software bundled in.

Photobucket has bandwidth 'issues' with fast moving forums - this might not really apply to this forum, but it does on some of the places I frequent. Flickr doesn't.
Even before Flickr I much preferred Imageshack to Photobucket - but then it started to get a bit slow, so I switched to Flickr.

I'm quite attached to Flickr - so much so that I now actually pay them money !!!!!
And I'm Notoriously tight !
I also find their Picnik editing software ridiculously easy to use.

I still use GIMP for optimisation but I really don't want to get too technical here.
