EH???? A techy question... I was expecting a good ribbing about the green paint :X

The gearbox is basically a stock CB 900 box up to the final drive sprocket where the output shaft has been altered to allow a transfer box to move the drive from the left hand side ( where the chain was on the CB 900 ) to the right hand side where Honda fitted what was probably a pile of  unused GL 1100 Goldwing shafts and swingarms they didnt know what else to do with. Some wily Japanese figured that if they stuck another cog in the transfer box and added another gear stick they would end up with 10 gears thereby relegating Yam, Suz and Kawa into the stone age

And it worked...Honda now have a range of  over 4 different models, 5 of which are already available in the UK

Aaaaaaah Mr. Barnett....If only you'd listened:P:shock:

Nothing wrong with being new to Brit Bike Speak. The good thing about being new in here, is that don't stay new for long, and as long as you take part in it and express yourself, you soon pick up the slang and a lot of knowledge.

By the way, one of my brothers lives in LA, I hope to go visit him for his 40th birthday this summer:D

Still have the first copy of CB and I missed the launch of its forum, Rats,

still Now logged on,

for those interested my main interest is British Iron though I have also some older Jappers, and some newer ones,

My main favourate is still my A65C ( rocket which was 3rd off the production line) this bike and my 750 Comando have been on three
continents, and along with others added As I have travelled will be returning to the UK some time in the neer future, as I still have a house in Wales I will be returning to,

BUT NOT until I am sure that daft new law about unregistered bike is either stopped or if it gets through repealed.

as I don't wish to have any of my other bikes confiscated,

Very wise to see what it will be like before returning, I'm in two minds about staying here. Left partly because of loony toony Blair making it difficult to earn an honest living. I'm also hoping to persuade my wife that moving to the south of france to open a classic bike shop together with my brother is a good idea. Cafe Racers for the tastefully rich to go with their yachts.

Strange as it might seem we are thinking of buying a place in France when we do return, but a bit closer to the German boarder, so we can visit the wife's family easily

There is a reg number tracing link on the RAC web-site which will tell you ifd it's still registered and taxed, there is also a service at the DVLA web site.

Welcome to the nut-house by the way, good luck finding it.

Hi, thanks for that but already been there! I know the bikes tax was due in January 2007 and is currently not taxed so maybe its stuck in a garage or scrapped. Will keep looking.

Hi its Hunter the new boy, I,ve had a look around the site and like what I see. Being of mature years I,ve had many bikes, and every conceivable state. At present I have a 1955 VH Red Hunter ( the bike my ageing years dictate), and a 1980 Ducati 900 NCR replica (the bike my youthfull brain tells me I want). Look forward to many chats about all things bike.

Hey there everyone everywhere on here..I've been reading CB for sometime now and just discovered it on the internet:)...I'm into classic and vintage bikes and partial to Brit iron-they just seem to last forever never mind how many years they've been buried under cow and chicken poop! I've a Royal Enfield J2 I'm restoring and I was looking for a rear stand(which seems to be rarer than hen's teeth) on the internet when I happened on this site..here's looking forward to some interesting n fun times on here!
