Hi everyone i have just found your site whilst looking for information on my new bike.

I have just got a James Comet L1. It is my first classic bike and i have started small.

Its only 98cc so shouldnt get me in to much trouble when i have finished it.

I have rebuilt a 1967 land rover so old english mechanics float my boat.

Has anyone got one up and running !

:D

Hi Muddy

I re-built a James comet about 5 years back and a couple of years back a James ML. Great little starter bikes. I used to be into Series 1 Landies, but the price of even a basket case one now has gone ridiculous.

You should have no trouble with the Comet. I take it it's the 2 speed with the gear change lever up on the handlebars.

Spares .......... you can't do better than talking to Steve at Villiers Services in Birmingham. Tele number 01384 265797. Very helpfull and they carry just about every spare you will need.

As always ........... PICTURES ......... always appreciated, before, during and after.

Good luck Muddy

Hi out there As i hope you can see i have downloaded a photo of my bike.

The Avitar automaticaly drops the size of the photo but i cant download any other photos due to the size i have. All my photos are at least 100 kb due to them being from a 5megapixel camera. does anyone know an easy way to shrink photos for the web site.

TA from the Mudruffin.
