A big hello
its freindly in here. i note you say you ride the big kwak. Are they really as scary as their reputation, mind you the fuel bill is probably scarier these days.
Welcome, Rob

Hi Rob,
I find the thrill of the ride makes it for me,its wickedly fast going up the box.Handling wise the tyres are a bit small for the performance, and I cant hold onto it over a ton,but overall it is ok,a lot of fun

Your baby is show room fresh, bet you have a mighty polishing technique or do you get the ol'lady to give it a good rub for you?
Is that all new chrome? if so who did it and how reasonable were the prices, I think I'm going towards my first Jap resto and unklike a Matchless painting it black is not an option!
cheers Rob

Hi Rob,
It's mostly polished,I used varing degrees of wet and dry, ending with the smoothest I could find, then solvo autosol (the old biker favorite).
Took quite some time to obtain the finish that I wanted,as I polish it by hand (not a fan of buffers as it seems you cant get into the corners etc. and get an even finish) but am pleased with the results. It is however an on going job,as I like to keep it to the standard I achieved.~ Why does rain stain casings so badly??~ The pipes were re-chromed before I bought it from Rick Brett,he would probably know where.
Do you have a project in mind?

Hello again Spoke
The Japster I refer to is a Honda CB350K4, hardly a revolutionary bike but a good footsoldier. i had one when I was 17-18 before I started playing with Triumphs and Tritons, before I got married and sold the lot. (head hung low in shame ).
The K4 is to be a memory lane trip so it will probably be to original spec and Jap chrome was a bit suspect in 1973 so 35 years later it is going to need some serious work to sort out. I pick the bike up this weekend so I will find the full extent of corrosion, but thats Ebay.
Current Bike in the shed is aTR6 Trophy (replica) that was slightly fire damaged after some other soul had restored it so fortunately the Chrome is solid and has polished up with only a tiny scab or two. Still finishing the paintwork and peering into the engine to check it out. will post something when it is assembled.
My other ineresting project is a Tiger cub Bobber for the Girlfriend (sacked the wife and got back into bikes - a better life) this is still a collection of parts and ideas but is based around a 54 plunger frame. How much chrome goes into it i'm not sure but polishing the ally is a must. We will see.
i'm hoping to have the Trophy and K4 mobile for next year for the 70's run at the Ace, a lad needs a target but no doubt something will get in the way!
best wishes and full respect for the standard of your H2, There was a good turn out of Kwak triples over at the TT this year so interest appears strong; and why not?, much better than the modern plastic bikes.
The H2 on the power band is a manly bike and I understand the tyre issue I take it really good modern rubber is not an option.
regards Rob
