Just on the off-chance - I'm in need of preferably a pair of shock absorbers for an NSU Quickly F23 or just one will do. If anyone has some they don't want I would be very grateful as I have irrepairably damaged one today

I bought my Quickly from Roger - he sells parts for the shocks but not the part I have managed to knacker........I'll probably give him a call on the off-chance. Failing that, I'll keep an eye on evilbay and autojumbles.
Thanks.

This might give you an idea, but bear in mind this is the known expert on NSUs so anyone else would probably get less:

| Not having much success - no reply to email, one of the phone numbers no longer exists and can't get answer on the other. I notice the website hasn't been updated for about a year. Will keep trying.

Update:
Got woken up by a phone call last night (was nodding off on sofa in front of telly) by very nice man apologising because he couldn't help with the shock absorbers - so the evening telephone number on the website does still work.
Going to see if there is any way of stripping and repairing the shock.

| Thanks. I've seen their newsletter - I think Aplins sent me a copy with some Runabout bits - it's rather impressive, I thought.

Nice one ,you've been looking them for a while....,i was looking at all the sellers other items ,another couple of mopeds and a nice little lathe, However my bike fleet is big enough at the moment and I'm spending my hard earned cash on going to as many events as possible instead of buying new (old) bikes. At the moment i'm making cush drive rubbers for my Vicky moped out of an old hosepipe as the NACC Headcorn run on the back roads of kent has caused them all to break up ,they've probably been untouched since 1964.

Trouble is, as it is a runner I think I will eventually be looking for a shock absorber again......still, at least I should have mine sorted before the Stafford Show as the NACC want it on the stand in all its rusty glory!
You've reminded me of a bloke at the BSA International rally in Belgium last year - he was whittling brake pads for his BSA folding bicycle out of bits chopped off a wooden pallett - he reckoned the quality of wood had a huge effect on the stopping power.....

| I've just looked at the ad ,are you going to leave the hot rodding flames in place?.I've seen a few quicklys but dont reconise the large diameter rear shock absorber with the little casing bit at the top ...must be that i've only seen the earlier quicklys, not a bad price for a runner with a V5C though.....

The shocks are fairly rare I think - which is why I bought a whole bike just for the spare shocks. Still, the flames are rare too (on an NSU) and I may feel obliged to preserve them................
